- @Brad -- I fully agree with your numbers, and thanks for clarifying. The point I'm trying to make is the wealthy already pay more than the rest of us anyway. Lots of people are hurting right now, it just does us no good to pick on those that are having a much easier time weathering the storm.

- @Ggap -- you're straying from my original argument. I never called for tax cuts for the wealthy. @btco -- this is an honest question, something with which I am completely unfamiliar: how does a decrease in government spending cause a decrease in private spending by an equal amount?

- @Tessy - Take it up with Bill Clinton. He said it, I just happen to be in agreement. But seriously though, the wealthy already pay one-third of their income in taxes. What qualifies as 'their fair share'? A 33% of a million dollar taxable income equates to $333,333 in taxes.
